Tangy Meatballs


 


1lb ground beef  1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup chili sauce 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
1 1/2 cups cheese-cracker crumbs  Cooking oil
 

 

Combine the ground beef, egg chili sauce, chopped onion, salt, and pepper with 1 cup cheese-cracker crumbs.  Mix thoroughly.  Shape into tiny meatballs, and roll in the remaining 1/2 cup cracker crumbs.

sauté the meatballs 5 minutes in 1/2 inch of hot cooking oil, turning to brown on all sides.  removed to a chafing dish, and serve with toothpicks.
